Originally from Western New York, Mr. DiTondo grew up in a town named Hamburg about twenty minutes south of Buffalo. He graduated with Honors from Frontier Central High School in 1996.
In 1997, Mr. DiTondo began attending Fredonia State University with a major in History and he received his degree in 2002. Following graduation Mr. DiTondo began attending Buffalo State College to obtain his teaching certification. In 2003, Mr. DiTondo received his teaching certification for secondary education social studies grades 7 through 12 with a 5 and 6 extension.
In 2004, Mr. DiTondo moved to Troutman, North Carolina for his first teaching position in Iredell-Statesville Schools. Over the next 15 years Mr. DiTondo taught Eastern Cultures and Geography, World History, and American History. He was also the soccer coach for 7 years, athletic director for 4 years, and drove a morning and afternoon bus route for 10 years.
In 2012, Mr. DiTondo began attending Gardner-Webb University and obtained his Masters of Education in Executive Leadership and an administration certification. This is Mr. DiTondo’s fourth year at Bailey Middle School and he is looking forward to continuing to immerse himself in the Bronco lifestyle and surrounding communities.
Over the last fifteenth years Mr. DiTondo has been runner-up for Teacher of the Year twice and in 2016, he was honored as a Bus Driver of the Year for Iredell-Statesville Schools.
Mr. DiTondo has been married to his beautiful wife Denise for ten wonderful years and has two daughters Amelia (6) and Madelyn (5). Mr. DiTondo’s hobbies include golf, reading, traveling, following my teams (GO BILLS, SABRES, and YANKEES), and yes he still likes a good video game every now and then. Currently, Mr DiTondo teaches 8th Grade American and North Carolina History.
